Accountant (Accounts Specialist) | Night Shift

Job Summary:
As an Accountant (Accounts Specialist), your role is to serve as a vital member of our finance team, contributing to the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of our financial reporting processes. You will play a key role in reconciling accounts, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise in Excel and proficiency in handling various accounting tasks will be essential in maintaining our financial records with precision and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate high-level skills within Excel
  • Reconcile multiple checking accounts with the bank on a daily basis and analyze reconciling items for appropriateness
  • Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Create GAAP, accrual-based financial statements on a timely basis
  • Perform variation analysis on income statement accounts
  • Project cash flow
  • Record journal entries within CRM
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts to supporting reports and analyze reconciling items for appropriateness
  • Communicate clearly and on a timely basis
  • Can work to a deadline
  • Perform data entry directly into the CRM
  • Able to identify issues and conduct research on one’s own
  • Submit end-of-day report
  • Insurance experience is a plus but not required
  • Years of experience is not as important as accuracy and timeliness


Desirable Skills and Experience:

 Must-haves:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Experience talking on the phone with brokers about payments/balances
  • In applied epics, do the following:
    - Set up ACH
    - Pay Carriers
    - Pay Venders
    - Record copies of checks into the system
    - Setup checks to be ready to be printed
    - Reconcile State Tax reports
    - Record/find statements for Commissions coming in from carriers

Nice to haves:
  • Strong adaptability to handle changing priorities and tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies effectively.
  • Collaborative mindset to work seamlessly with team members and stakeholders, enhancing overall productivity and communication.
